Current Projects:

  • Development of a Water Resource Information portal for Alabama Water :
    • A cyber platform data service for the sharing and dissemination of water data from observed gages, as well as modelled flow in river reaches across Alabama for easy use by water managers, decision makers. The platform will also include streamflow forecast capabilities from different sources such as the European Center for  Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF). This project is funded by the Alabama Water Policy and Law Institute.
  • National Flood Interoperability Experiment (NFIE)
    • This project consists of the development of National Modelling framework for flood forecasting leveraging data from different federal, states, and private datasets. This project inculdes partners from a number of institutions including NOAA National Water Center, The National Weather Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Homeland Security, the University of Texas, Austin, the Univerisy of Illinois, CUASI, and more. The goal of this project is the development of a national modeling platform capable of high resolution real-time flood forecast.
